I think if you want to promote family life, then we would need a shift of our society's entire system of values. I do think the idea of constantly chasing economic targets does change a person's priorities in life. Financial considerations are important as well, but it shouldn't be the end of it. And most people I've seen would pursue money and the material aspects of life before chasing the warmth from having your own family, or delay and even avoid marriage to satisfy their own pursuits. It's me-first, without showing how having a family can add so much to what you are. And seriously, I don't support this child getting exercise, because the people pushing it are not doing it for altruistic reasons. It's even a matter of principle or religion. They want babies for economic reasons. Seriously, 200 hundred years on, will anybody shed a tear if Singapore disappears? Why should they? A family can give you a kind of warmth and happiness that I personally truly enjoy and want. However, it may not be a path for everyone. Far be it from me to tell you to have a kid just because the government says you should. Sometimes, the hardest part about having kids is letting them grow up and live their own lives.
